Dear Friend,

This fall I will be participating in the Silicon Valley Marathon on Sunday, October 25, 2009 benefiting the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation. The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is a charitable trust that initiates, supports, and runs non-formal one-teacher schools (popularly known as Ekal Vidyalayas) all over India. I have joined the Ekal Vidyalaya movement and need your help in raising money for the noble cause.

The Ekal Vidyalaya movement aims to help eradicate illiteracy from rural and tribal India by 2011. To date, Ekal Vidyalaya is a movement of over 27,000 schools, 5,000 (Approximately) voluntary workers, 20 field organizations (scattered in 20 Indian states), and 8 support agencies. With this tremendous human force, the Ekal Vidyalaya movement strives to create a network of non-formal schools that will educate and empower children in rural and tribal India. I urge you to visit EVF's website at www.ekalvidyalaya.org for more information. Please visit the EkalVidyalaya's Silicon Valley chapter website at www.evsv.org

I need your help with your generous donation to achieve my fund raising goal, while I will train hard to achieve my other goal of completing the race. You can donate online by filling the form on the right hand side or by writing a check payable to the "Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA". Please mail checks to the following address:

Ekal Vidyalaya,
21219, Gardena Drive,
Cupertino, CA 95014.

Please specify my runner number and name in the memo.

Thank you very much.

Dear Friend,

I will be running Silicon Valley Marathon with EkalMarathon team again this year on October 26th in San Jose. I run for two reasons, first to keep myself fit, and second but more important to provide education to tribal children of India. This will be my fifth marathon benefitting Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation. The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is a charitable trust that initiates, supports, and runs non-formal one-teacher schools (popularly known as Ekal Vidyalaya) all over India. I have been associated with Ekal Vidyalaya movement for last three years.

The Ekal Vidyalaya movement aims to help eradicate illiteracy from rural and tribal India by 2011. To date Ekal Vidyalaya is a movement of over 27,000 schools, approximately 5,000 voluntary workers, 20 field organizations (scattered in 20 Indian states), and 8 support agencies. I urge you to visit EVF website for more information.

Each Ekal school costs $365 per year. My personal goal is to raise $2190 (six schools) this year. I need your generous help in raising this money. I thank you in advance for your generosity.

Sincerely,
